The anointing of God is a very precious thing. When I first started listening to people talk about “the anointing of God” I was completely confused and I will be the first to admit it. anointing seemed (to someone who grew up bapticostal) somewhat like a Catholic ritual. It was only until I started digging deeper into Gods word that the understanding started opening up to me. Since this was a topic that was foreign to me, I thought I could enlighten others. The anointing of God is God’s blessing on your life. For instance, you want to go be a preacher and you are seeking knowledge, higher education, and are cutting your pathway directly to becoming a self-made preacher – awesome. However, the degree is great but the anointing is better. Let me explain…

Have you ever asked God for a certain skill set in your life? Let’s say there was a job opportunity that you wanted so bad, but you knew that you weren’t skilled in it? Well now let’s say that God wanted you to have that job.. Wouldn’t he arm you with everything you needed to get it? Of course he would! God is a God of gifts and blessings. He wants us to live blessed lives and have plenty.

Deuteronomy 12:7 There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

Mind you, I am not targeting preachers here, however I have heard some preaching that made me question the anointing, and frankly their reasons for being behind that pulpit. We are all human, and we can all fall prey to human desires. Some preaching is self serving, some is self righteous, some are selfless and directed purely from true hearts and true teaching that have been revealed from God himself. On the opposite of the spectrum I want to explain something…

The anointing of God can – and has been used for the wrong motives. It can, and has brought trouble onto the persons mis-using Gods anointing and to those who heard the lies or saw one. God is very particular about who gets his anointing and he uses the humble more than the proud for good reason. We can all be a little self righteous…amen? That’s why God tests you before he gives you the anointing. He prepares your heart beforehand and will give you small “God tests” and waits for you to pass. once that happens you can step out and receive Gods anointing and blessings on your life. Gods promises never change. If you feel a certain call on your life, it’s probably not just your imagination. It could be God calling you.

God Bless,

There are seasons. Seasons in our lives as well as seasons on the Earth. I do not think this truth is to be taken lightly. We as Christians need to recognize we have seasons also. Ecclesiastes 3 states:

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure

Today I want to talk about the season of the veiling and un-veiling. See, It is my personal opinion that God blinds us for a season. He is in our lives at all times, but sometimes our simple message is to “wait”. Of course our age-old reply is “God, what the heck am I waiting for?!” But let’s just take a look back at those times in our life when we were waiting. Could it have been that God himself was not only stirring your life, but also others lives that would directly affect yours? Think about it.

“I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them” (Isaiah 42:16).

The veil is used a lot in the bible. Either for actual tangible veils, or spiritual veils-  it is noted that they both do exist – often for reasons predestined by God. Here are a few examples of text:

Job 22:14 Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in the vaulted heavens.’

2 Corinthians 3:15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Lamentations 3:65 Put a veil over their hearts, and may your curse be on them!

Ezekiel 13:21 I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

It turns out that the veil is used and has been used throughout time. It is nothing new. It just means that when we are meant to see things we are allowed to see them. Interesting concept. Take a look at your surroundings. Look out a window and you may miss something that is right in front of your face. You will miss parts of the picture until you are made aware, and your eyes are unveiled. Now this is just a simple analogy, but far more than this is our current life situations. I believe it’s all a timing issue. I believe its up to the season of your life at that very moment. God knows everything. God’s plan and purpose for us is far more unimaginable thatneither you or I could fathom. Sometimes what we deem silly or crazy- is just Gods way of asking for obedience from us. Once you get to tending to Gods business, he will start tending to yours.

Is there something in your life that you can’t see? Have you been hidden behind the veil?

It is possible for us to look at things through veiled eyes. Situations we are in, maybe that we are too close to- and we cant see past it. Sometimes we truly, ‘can’t see the forest for the trees.’ It’s true in the big things and in the small stuff. I have always written off and on throughout my life. Most times it was when I had motivation or harbored feelings that I couldn’t express otherwise. I took for granted the power of my words. I recently found some of my own old musings. My how it awakened me again. There is a certain truth about my current situation that reminded me that I was under the veil. There is a certain ‘just dessert’ about things now. I knew a lot of things before I was willing to see them through unveiled eyes. Timing is everything. Yes, indeed it is. There is some magnificent divinity to Gods plan and timing that never ceases to amaze me. I look back now, and I see what was an undeniable truth – I was still growing and somehow didn’t have the spiritual prowess to notice or realize. Maybe God had control over the veil. Yet there is no doubt about it that when the veil came off, it came off with entirety. There wasn’t a shred of mesh or fabric over my eyes. I see….I saw…..
